How to Turn Off Camera Sound on Android

Many Android users may find it disappointed that their phones do not have a mute switch like iPhone so that they can flip it to hush the camera shutter sound. Moreover, they cannot even find a simple setting to shut it down even though the sound is just all software.
But, now some Android phones do have a button in the camera interface for you to toggle that sound effect off. For those whose sound cannot be muted, you need to see the second guide.

Part 1: Guide to Mute Android Camera Sound

Note: It may not be suitable for all the phones.

Step 1.Turn on Camera
Click the Camera app and you will get it launched.

Step 2.Use the Mute Button
Tap the Menu button and then go to "Others". Tick "Mute". Now you shutter sound is off.
Click Mute Button

Part 2: Guide to Delete Camera Sound File

Step 1. Install Framaroot
There are so many ways to do this. And Framaroot works for most phone. Get it at AndroidXDA. Download and set it up.

Step 2. Start to Root Your Android
Click the box and select "Install SuperSU". Try the first exploit "Boromir". If it fails, try the other two.

Step 3.Delete the Sound File with Root Explorer
Install and open your Root Explorer. Go to /root/system/media/audio and you will find this file named "camera_click.ogg". Use the button "Mount R/W". Press and hold the file name for a while. Click "Delete" and all is done.
